Quality Assurance System – Degree Course – Actions

  • Annual actions:
    • The University Quality Committee (Presidio Qualità di Ateneo), at the end of each semester, obtains students’ feedback through online questionnaires for the assessment of teaching, to understand how the teaching and organisation of the Degree Course (DC) is perceived by students. The outcome of the assessment is transmitted to the President of the DC.
    • The students of the DC fill in the teaching evaluation questionnaires. Student representatives participate in the meetings of the DC Council, the Review Group, the Joint Commission of the DC, the Joint Commission of the Department, and the Steering Committee. This is to communicate students’ needs and give feedback to fellow students regarding any actions implemented for the evaluation and revision of the DC curriculum.
    • The Presidency of the DC and the Joint Committee of the DC analyze the teaching evaluation questionnaires; for courses in which critical issues are highlighted, they urge teachers to propose actions for improvement and monitoring of their effectiveness.
    • The Presidency of the DC draws up the SUA-DC form which is also discussed within the Joint Committee of the DC and in the DC Council.
    • The Steering Committee examines the educational path of the DC and provides advice and proposals for a continuous improvement of the educational path offered to students, taking into consideration the needs of the labour market. Moreover, it defines and reviews the pre-professional training activities, keeping them updated as regards the job prospects of new graduates.
    • The EAEVE Delegate provides the Faculty-Student Joint Commission of the Department (FSJC) with ESEVT indicators to be analyzed during the production of the annual report.
    • The Review Group draws up the annual Monitoring Form, which represents a comment on the national quality indicators of the student flow, internationalization, and integration of graduates in the labour market provided by the National Agency for University Evaluation and Research (ANVUR). The Monitoring Form is brought to the attention of the DC Council for approval.
    • The FSJC collects all the reports drawn up by the DC, draws up a report on the teaching activity carried out within all the DC active at the Department and proposes any improvement. The FSJC analyzes any critical issues concerning the general management of the Department (usability of the classrooms, library, etc.).
    • The Presidency of the DC, assisted by the Review Group, analyzes the proposals of the FSJC and proposes initiatives for improvement to be discussed in the DC Council.
    • The DC Council acknowledges the proposals resulting from the work of the various Commissions, discusses them, approves them, and monitors their implementation and communication.

  • Cyclical actions:
    • The Review Group must prepare the Cyclical Review Report every 5 years. The DC in Veterinary Medicine of Pisa last issued the Cyclical Review Report in 2018. In 2019 the DC was subjected to an accreditation assessment by the National Agency for University Evaluation and Research (ANVUR). The evaluation provided for the remote examination of the Cyclical Review Report and all the documentation made available, as well as a live on-site visit by a Commission of Expert Evaluators who drafted a final report in which the DC was accredited as fully satisfactory.
