Service for Student with Disabilities (including temporary) and with LSD

In order to facilitate the inclusion of students with disabilities and with LSD during their university education, the University of Pisa provides specific services, in accordance with the reference legislation:

Services Unit for the Integration of Students with Disabilities (USID) and LSD Desk

In 2000, the University of Pisa established a special structure called the Service Unit for the Integration of Students with Disabilities (USID).

USID deals with removing the obstacles that stand between students with disabilities and university life, trying to improve the possibility of active participation in all its activities and facilities.

The University of Pisa also provides a dedicated Desk for LSD (Specific Learning Disorders) students, as well as a Listening and Counseling Service, open to all students.

The headquarters of USID/Sportello DSA/Listening Service is in Largo Bruno Pontecorvo 3 – Ex Marzotto Complex, Building G – 56127 Pisa.

At the University level, the Delegate of the Rector for the inclusion of students with disabilities and with LSD is designated as responsible for support activities for students with disabilities and with LSD: Prof. Luca Fanucci (https://www.unipi.it/index.php/delegati/item/8673-luca-fanucci).

At Department level, the Departmental Referent for student with disabilities and with LSD is designated to facilitate contacts and communication between the Department itself (students, faculty) and the University Offices in charge of services for students with disabilities (including temporary) and LSD (USID, DSA Desk): Prof. Francesca Pedonese (francesca.pedonese@unipi.it). The Departmental Referent coordinates the Departmental Group for Disabilities and LSD.

In order to facilitate and accompany students with disabilities and DSA within the Veterinary Sciences Department during their university education, the Departmental Group for Disabilities and LSD was born in 2021. Find all the information at the following link.
