Regulation of the Review Group of the Degree Course in Veterinary Medicine

Art. 1 Aim

This Regulation governs the operating procedures and defines the composition of the Review Group of the Degree Course (DC) in Veterinary Medicine, hereinafter referred to as the Review Group.

Art 2. Institution

The President of the DC appoints the Review Group each year.

Art 3. Composition

The Review Group consists of the President of the DC (Head of the Review), any other teachers of the DC, a student representative, the Head of the administrative teaching unit and at least one representative from the world of work.

Art 4. Functions

4.1 The Review Group has the task of carrying out a periodic and planned Review process, with the aim of:

  1. verifying the adequacy and effectiveness of the way the DC is managed;
  2. identifying the causes of any unsatisfactory results to take all appropriate corrective and improvement measures.

The Review activity carried out by the Review Group is divided into:

  • analysis of the effects of corrective actions already undertaken in previous academic years;
  • definition of the strengths and areas for improvement, which emerge from the analysis of quantitative data (entry into university, regularity of the study path, entry into the world of work, opinions of students and graduates) or from problems observed or reported on the training course;
  • identification of interventions aimed at introducing corrective actions regarding the critical elements highlighted or at making improvements.

4.2 The Review Group is called upon to prepare the DC Review report which can be annual or cyclical. Particularly:

  • the annual review is drawn up annually to monitor and promote the improvement of the effectiveness of training activities, their tools, services, and infrastructures.
  • the cyclical review is typically drawn up at intervals of several years, depending on the duration of the DC and the frequency of accreditation and in any case in preparation for a periodic accreditation visit. The report highlights the continuing validity of the training objectives and of the management system used by the DC to achieve them.

The cyclical review cannot, therefore, replace the annual review which must be drawn up every year as the analysis perspectives are different.

In the event of a change in the Order, it is necessary to draw up also the cyclical review, in addition to the annual review.

4.3 The subjects directly and actively involved in the process of drafting the Review are:

  • The DC Review Group, responsible for the Review, with the function of compiling the available format/model;
  • Department Quality Manager, with the function of validating the reports of the DC of his department;
  • The Department and DC Councils, with the function of approving the reports of the DC.

Art.5 Activities

5.1 The Review Group must be operational throughout the year, meeting several times on the occasion of the compilation of the Review report.

5.2 The meetings of the Review Group are called by the President of the DC, who also establishes the agenda, at least five days in advance of the scheduled date, and are held according to the normal rules that generally apply to collegiate bodies.

Art. 6 Approval of the Regulations

6.1 These Regulations are approved by the DC Council. Any changes require approval and resolution by the DC Council.

6.2 With the entry into force of these Regulations, all provisions contained in equivalent or minor regulatory sources in conflict with it cease to be effective.
